Mysuru: The players who will be representing Mysuru Warriors Team in the forthcoming Karnataka Premiere League cricket tournament which is scheduled to be held from September 1 to 23 at three different venues Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hubballi, were introduced on Saturday.
During the last season, though Mysuru Warriors created a record of sorts by winning seven consecutive matches, this season the team is having 13 new faces including new captain in their 20-member team. Among the team, five are from Mysuru including S P Manjunath, B N Bharath, J Suchith, Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Kishan S Bedare.
Dashing Indian cricketer Manish Pandey captained the team for three seasons and won the 2014 edition but this season due to his non-availability, Karun Nair, the other promising batsman from Karnataka who too already has a name in international cricket by scoring triple ton against England in one of the test matches will be leading the side. For this season of KPL, 18 players were selected through auction process and two players Nanda Kishore from Mandya and Kishan S Bedare were shortlisted from the Talent Hunt for the Mysuru Warriors team. The team is undergoing practice at SJCE ground since August 14.

It’s not just about cricket but also about inculcating good culture within the team. We all believe in each other’s success and all back each other on and off the field. The team also introduced the support team which includes Vijay Madyalkar as assistant coach, Shyam Rao as the trainer and Raghavendra as his assistant, Dr. Shravan as the team physiotherapist, Mohan Das as the assistant physiotherapist, state selector and coach M S Ravindra as the talent manager, N Arun Kumar as the team coordinator and M R Suresh as the team manager.

Mysuru to witness 12 KPL matches this season
The sixth edition KPL matches will also be held in Mysuru at Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Ground from September 4 to 12.Though the first two days including the inauguration on September 1 and 2 will be held in Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium, later the second phase of the matches will be conducted in Mysuru at SDNRW ground from September 4 to 12 and third and final phase in Hubbali from September 14 to 23 including semi-finals and finals. On the first day in Mysuru, on September 4, Mysuru Warriors will take on Bijapur Bulls at 7 pm. The first match will be held at 3 pm and the second at 7 pm.
