Mumbai: The 35-year-old medium pace bowler of the Indian cricket team, popularly nicknamed as “Lagaan” by his fellow mates in the team, Munaf Patel, has decided to retire from the international cricket arena.
Speaking to one of the prominent Indian dailies, on his decision of retirement, Munaf said that he did not regret his decision, as almost all, excluding M S Dhoni, have retired from the game.
He also said that he would only regret if his team mates were still playing and he was the only one to quit.
Munaf will be making his appearance in the T10 League to be held in Dubai and he has wished to pursue the career of a coach, after his retirement.
The decision is said to be taken after discussion with his close friends. He has not given any specific reason but just that he is now aged and the fitness level was not that progressive as earlier. He wants the young talents to flow in and make their career and achieve their dreams.
