Akshatha Swaroopa who hails from Kunjathbail in Mangalore is an exceptional mimicry artiste who has proved her talent in the over 100 mimicry shows presented by her across the state until now.Her stage shows wherein she mimics the cries of birds, animals as well as sounds of vehicles, leave the audience spell bound.
Twenty year old Akshatha presently pursuing her studies at the Alva’s College at Moodbidri owes her success in the field to her Guru and teacher Gopadkar of Swaroopa Adhyayana Kendra in Mangalore. She took to mimicry as a hobby at the age of six and today has emerged one of the successful mimicry artistes of the state. “The general notion is that only boys can be good mimicry artistes. I wanted to prove this wrong and learnt the art,” says a confident Akshatha.
She has the credit of giving shows in almost all districts of the state and has also won an award from the Karnataka Sahitya Academy. Akshatha also had won award in the Idol 2013 event organised by Manipal Ace.
Akshatha is not just known for her mimicry talent, but also for her exceptional memory power. She has mastered the art of remembering at least 1000 cell phone numbers and even made an attempt to enter Guinness Record in this direction.
Akshatha can remember mobile numbers told to her one after the other and can even recollect them at the same speed. Also a good Tabla and flute artiste, Akshatha owes her success to her Guru Gopadkar and his encouragement and guidance.
