Mangalore : The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded  sitting MP  Nalin Kumar Kateel for a second term from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency. The party has won in the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency consecutively for six times — in 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2009 elections.

Kateel who is portrayed to be a grassroots worker, made it to the Lok Sabha in 2009 by defeating Congress heavy weight B Janardhana Poojary  by a margin of 40,420 votes. He asserts that an election is not a fight between two individuals but two parties.

On the other hand although there were speculations that few party members were  unhappy over his candidature,  Kateel  puts an end to the rumours stating it was nothing more than anecdotes and the party has no indication of any change in the candidature.

In an exclusive interview with NewsKarnataka, Nalin Kumar speaks about BJP, its ideologies, objectives and poll prospects.
