Mangaluru: The bling of fashion and the glamour world is such that it can blinden any individual. But, for Sanidh Poojary, a 23-year-old lad from coastal Karnataka the glitz of fashion world has not succeeded in taking him away from his roots.
His curly locks neatly tied up, he is a face that anybody would associate with the glamorous world of fashion, but he simply lets it down to create his immediate identity!
A runway choreographer and a news correspondent by profession settled in Navi Mumbai, Sanidh is an aware youth who returns home to Katapady to surrender himself to his family deity-Chamundi.
This youth dons several roles, but role of the ‘Daivapatri’ or the impersonator of the deity is close to his heart. Maddening schedule covering lifestyle, fashion and civic issue and the equally demanding career as a fashion choreographer completely comes to a halt when this young man opens his arms to the supreme divine.
In seconds, he is elevated to the position of being the deity himself as the faithful look at him in hope and in devotion.
Daivas or the demi Gods have enchanted Sanidh from a very young age. As a teenager, when Sanidh had expressed his desire to become an impersonator, his parents had objected to the same saying that he should first complete his studies. Soon, young Sanidh realised the importance to be educated and he then channelised all his energies into studies.
All of this has paid him rich dividend. As a Runway director (fashion Choreographer) he has been a part of Lakme Fashion Week-15, Navi Mumbai Fashion Week-16, Kerala fashion League-16, Bangalore Blenders Pride, Splash Fashionista Nights, Mr and Miss Mangalore, Chevrolet Fashion Extravaganza Mangalore, Mr and Miss Diva, Mumbai.
As a journalist, he was recently honoured as youngest journalist by Navi Mumbai Mayor and as youngest Runway director at WOW. With over 70 awards in his kitty, Sanidh never let the desire to return to the rich spiritual pursuit die. The desire that 13-year-old Sanidh had was finally fulfilled by him at an age of 23 on this May 3 as he initiated the process to become a ‘Daiva Pathri’ and performed his first Darshana for Chamundi, Sathyadevathe and Varthe this year.
With a promise to step on the pious soil of his ancestral Daivasthana next year, Sanidh is only a happy youth gazing at the horizon.
