Kiccha Sudeepa starrer “Hebbuli” will release in few hours. The film has been making waves in Gandhinagar right from the day it was announced. The stills of the film have become a big hit. Sudeepa’s hairstyle became a trend setter. Initially slated to release last year, the film will finally hit the screens on Thursday, February 23.The film has a big star cast. Kiccha Sudeepa is leading the cast with Ravichandran, Amala Paul, Ravishankar and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles. Arjun Janya’s songs have already created magic. Krishna, who is known for his camera works is directing this film. In the past, he had directed “Gajakesari”, which was a big hit.
Jack Manju is distributing the film in Karnataka. The film will reportedly hit in 400 screens, including multiplex. This will be the highest number so far for a Kannada film in Karnataka. With the film’s fad at its peak before the release itself, the makers want to squeeze out how much ever possible in the first week.
Kiccha Sudeepa’s last film “Kotigibba 2” was a blockbuster. The same is expected from this film. The collections in “Kotigibba 2” in multiplexes were talking point in Gandhinagar.
Fans of Sudeepa have been promoting the film on social media since months. They are also adopting unique methods to promote the film. A “Tiger Dance” team from Mangaluru is all set to come to Bengaluru and perform in main theatre Santhosh.
The film will surely be targeting many records in box office. The first record would be the highest first day collections. As per the trade pundits in Gandhinagar, the first day collections of “Masterpiece” has not been broken yet. This would be the first target of the film. And it looks like the film will easily achieve it. The film has record number of screens in multiplexes also, which “Masterpiece” also had. For instance, PVR at Orion Mall in Bengaluru had allotted 23 screens for “Masterpiece”, which was a record for a Kannada film. However for “Hebbuli”, the same multiplex has alloted 26 screens!
The film’s advance booking opened last Sunday. It has created havoc on popular booking sites like BookMyShow.com and Ticketnow.com, with tickets being sold out. Fan shows have been organised at midnight in North Karnataka. In Bengaluru, fan shows will start from early 6 am.
“Hebbuli” will also have a big release outside India. PVR Cinemas is distributing the film in 30 screens in prominent cities. Sudeepa is extremely popular all over India, thanks to his stint in Bollywood and Tollywood.
Everything is going in favour of the film. However, too much expectations may also play the spoilsport. The first four day collections of the film are expected to be excellent. However, after the initial hoopla lowers, we will have to see how the film will fare. That will be the real test.
As of now let’s wait and see how far Hebbuli manages to grab as it roared.
