The competition is going to be tough and intensity will be high as participants from all over the world are expected to pose different challenges to me. I am glad that I have got my father Srinath Urs as my coach, who knows my strength and weaknesses. At the moment, I am training hard to win at the global event.”

Deia who is going all out in effort for the event is specifically concentrating on enhancing her stamina to excel at the Juniors Kickboxing Championship, “Participants from USA, Europe and Africa, will be way ahead of us because of the immense stamina they possess. They will be having an edge in the competition, because they start taking kickboxing very early in their career, which is not the case in India. Having said that, I believe hard work and perseverance are the two things which can help me to emerge victorious”. The selection of Deia was based on her performance at the WAKO India National Junior Kickboxing Championship held recently in New Delhi, where she won a Gold Medal in the girls 15-18 years (- 48 kg) K-1 category.
