Kichcha Sudeep has beaten the 8-month box office opening record of Yash’s ‘Masterpiece’ with his recently released film ‘Kotigobba 2’. According to distributors, the film has collected Rs 18 crores in its four day extended weekend. The film benefitted with three public holidays in its first four days.
A press meet was held by the distributors of all regions on August 16 to share the happiness. The film has broken the record of Yash’s ‘Masterpiece’, which had collected around Rs 16 crores in its four day extended weekend last December.
With this record, Sudeep has again proved his popularity. The actor, who was criticized since many years for playing it safe with remakes, has proved his calibre with a “Swamake” hit.
The film is already a big hit. The Tamil version of the film is also doing great box office collections. With this, we can safely say that Sudeep is on the lines of becoming a big south superstar, who can get good collection in different south states.
