Nowadays it is difficult for any film to acquire good satellite right price due to large number of releases. Except big stars film, the satellite rights of even successful small star films fetches small amount. The recent example for this is ‘Kenda Sampige’, which was a critical as well as commercial success. However, the satellite rights were sold for Rs 50 lacs only.
However, Rakshit Shetty’s ‘Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu’ which had a dream run in India and USA has been sold for Rs 1.5 crores. This is an excellent amount for a non-mass film.
Revealing the news in his Facebook page Pushkar wrote, “#GodhiBanna #TV & #Digital Rights has been sold to an Independent Buyer. Kothari for Rs 1.5 Crores. We are Very Thankful to Him for quoting a Deserved Price for the Film & settling the Full amount immediately.Though being Declared as a Hit Movie, Appreciated by the Entire Media & a Family Entertainer, Our journey was very painful to sell it to the Deserved amount. It’s almost 3 months Now. What was finally thought was, To sell Tv rights separate & Digital Rights separate. (Netflix For Digital Rights). Which Together would have generated 1.6 Crores, only thing is, it would have taken some more time. Hope to see, growing Encouragement For Good kannada cinemas Soon. Thanks to Everyone who shown interest to Support Us.”
