Bengaluru: After acting in several South Indian Films, Priyanka Upendra, now, is busy writing a woman-centric Kannada script.

Talking of this project, Priyanka said, “I have always wondered how the Kannada film industry has this void when it comes to strong women characters between the age group of 25 and 35.

 “I have been willing to bridge this gap with a script that addresses this. My experiences as a homemaker also give me an added edge”, she said.

 The actress says that the current trend on women-led films such as How Old Are You and English Vinglish have inspired her to write one.

 Priyanka also revealed that Vidya Balan’s films were also an inspiration for her.  She also said, “Once I am done with the story, I have my friends and Uppi (her husband, actor-director Upendra) to help me with dialogues”.
