Upon release in 2013, Googly went on to become one of the biggest hits in Sandalwood. This film also catapulted Yash into list of top 5 actors of Sandalwood and now after six years, a sequel of the film is being made. However, it will not star the original star cast.

Titled Googly 2, the film will be helmed by Pavan Wadeyar’s associate Rajaguru B and will star Prithvi, who is grandson of well-known musician GK Venkatesh. Prithvi debuted with Naanu Mathu Varalakshmi in 2016, which was a flop.

This film will be presented by Jayanna and will be produced by K Manjunath. Arun Somasundaram has been roped in as the film’s cinematographer. Natasaarvabhowma heroine, Anupamaa Parameshwaran will most probably play the female lead in the film.
