Skoda – the czech automaker part of volkswagen group has recalled octavia sedan in India. It has recalled 539 units of the Octavia in order to check and replace faulty manual child locks on the rear doors. According to the Skoda, Octavia manufactured between November 2015 and April 2016 may feature aforementioned fault.
The Czech automaker claims that assessment of the faulty child locks will take just 12 minutes. In case the service personnel find the locks to be faulty, free replacements will be carried out. The entire process of fixing would take around 45 minutes only. It will be done completely free and dealers will replace the faulty part for free of cost. Skoda dealers across the country will intimate Octavia owners about this recall. Owners can themselves call their skoda dealer to get more details on the issue
Skoda recently announced that they would spend INR 100 crores to improvise and push up the after sales service, and the overall experience of the customers. It also plans to launch four new models in India, Octavia RS and Kodiaq are the two premium ones.
