Dubai : JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South constituency was warmly felicitated on behalf of  Karnataka Sangha Sharjah during his recent visit to Dubai to take part in various programmes.

Satish Poojari, President of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha, Chief Patron Mark Dennis D’Souza and other office bearers felicitated Lobo at the function held at Fortune Plaza Hotel Auditorium.  Noted  entrepreneur and  philanthropist  Ronald Colaco was also honoured on the occasion.

JR Lobo who spoke on the occasion, highlighted the growth potential of Mangalore and said projects need to be formulated with the next 50 years in mind. He also observed that new projects should not be out rightly rejected but  stressed the need to implement them  by ensuring  that no harm is caused to environment.

He also made a request to several NRI entrepreneurs to come forward to invest in the region.

Ronald Colaco in his address said  Mangalore had not registered progress on expected lines despite having all the potential and hoped that  the expected change can be  brought about with the help of  experienced  politicians like JR Lobo.

There was also an interactive session between JR Lobo and the participants.

Noted entrepreneurs Satish Venkatramana, Harish Sheregar, James Mendonca, Herman Luis, Shashikanth, General Secretary of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha and  leaders of various UAE Kannada organizations and others were present.
