MCA organizes 5th Voice Workshop for Konkani singers

Doha-Qatar: The Mangalore Cultural Association, a socio cultural community successfully conducted the 5th Voice Workshop for Konkani singers on of Friday June 27, at the Whyndham Grand Regency Hotel.

A Renowned Musicologist Roshan Francis Martis from Mangalore has conducted the Voice Workshop.

The workshop began with MCA’s theme song. The emcee Sandeep Noronha invited advisory committee member Wilfred Fernandes to present Roshan with a bouquet as a token of gratitude. MCA president Arthur Pais welcomed all the attendees and handed over the dais to Roshan Martis.

Roshan Martis has established his own School of Music “Sur-Rang” Sangeet Vidya Mandir, at Kadri Tollgate, Mangalore, and has been teaching independently to students since 2008. He is also an Assistant Music Teacher at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mangalore, since 1996.

Roshan is Sangeeth Visharad in Hindustani Classical Music – Vocal & Instrumental from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharv Mahavidhyalay, Mumbai, and Maharashtra.

Roshan has shared his vast knowledge in the music field with the participants. He taught a lot of exercises that help in ameliorating the singing quality and performance. He also shared some yogic techniques for maintain good health, relief of stress and voice quality development.

MCA advisory committee member Felix lobo, Renowned Konkani singer & GVOM coordinator Veena Rebimbus Pais, MCA Vice president Jason Quadros were present on the occasion. Around 30 enthusiastic singers from Qatar participated in this workshop. The feedback received from them was very good and asking for more of such workshops.

The program concluded with delicious snacks.
