Dubai : Yakshamitrau Dubai UAE, the association which has been working for the past 11 years in UAE for the development of Mangalorean culture and to keep the essence of Yakshagaana  alive, staged a famous Kannada historic play Maanishada written by Bottikere Purushottam Poonja to  packed audiences. 

The play was staged at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Oud Mehtha-Dubai.The organizing committee and the chief guest inaugurated the play by lighting the lamp.

The narrators of the play Dinesh Ammannaya and Patla Satish Shetty entertained the audience with their voice modulations and  singing. Famous Chende music instrument player Padmanabha Upadhyaya was another main attraction of this play. Talented local Yakshagaana artists along with guest artists Deepak Rao Pejavara and Prashanth Shetty Nelyadi presented their Yakshagaana skills and made a Maanishada play a memorable one.

A Traditionally built stage, superior lighting and acoustics,  and the attractive make up done by Lakshmana Kumar Marakada and Gangadhar D Shettigar, were the keystones of  Maanishada’s  great success. Organizers acknowledged the contributions of the artistes by felicitating participants with a memento. They also honoured the sponsors and thanked everyone who supported the staging of the play. The Yakshagaana artists were also presented with memento from sponsors.

The Abudhabi Karnataka Sangha president Sarvottama Shetty, Managing Director of ACME building materials Harish Sherigar, Director of Fortune Group of Hotels Mr. Pravin Shetty, Managing Director of Arab Udupi restaurants Shekhar Shetty, Director of Venus Hotels Vasudeva Bhat and other guests were present.
