Doha, Qatar: Karnataka Sangha Qatar’s 6th “Karnataka Cup 2015” was won by HANAN who defeated Century Cricket Club in the finals here on April 23rd. The record family crowd that came to witness the final was treated to a fine display of spirited cricket from both teams.

Mr. R. K.Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India was the chief guest while Mr. Kiran More, Former Indian Vice Captain and stumper, who represented India in Tests and ODI’s was the chief guest of honor. Mr. C.K.Krishnan-AGM, Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking, Doha Bank, Mr. Girish Kumar – President ICC, and Event sponsor Mr. Chidanand Naik -GM, M Pallonji were also guests of honour for the evening.
The Chief Guest was escorted to the stage in a grand procession with drums and a band. Later on Gujarati Samaj, Qatar presented beautiful Garba Dance. Gujarathi Samaj Qatar president Hasmukh Patel presented a memento to Kiran More and Karnataka Sangha Qatar felicitated Kiran More on the same occasion. Mr. Chidanand too, was felicitated during the event for his patronage to KSQ Cricket and cricket in Qatar. Mr. More, thanked the KSQ for its effort to promote the game of cricket in Qatar. Earlier, President Deepak Shetty , while welcoming the gathering high-lighted social, cultutal, sports and charitable activities of the Sangha.

The closing ceremony was compered by Tufail, while the General Secretary, Mahesh Gowda proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Sanjay Kudari-chief coordiantor, Nagesh Rao VP and Mahesh Gowda General Secretary were on the dais.
Awards were presented as follows: Man of the Finals: Aswar of HANAN, Man of the Series: Niyamant of HANAN, Best Batsman: Rauf of HANAN, Best Allrounder: Sharif of Centurion, Best Bowler: Upul of Qatartech and Best wicket keeper: Pushpe of SERENDEB.
