UAE: Indian People’s Forum (IPF) UAE in association with Consulate general of India at UAE celebrated Raksha Bandhan – a celebration of brotherhood in a grand manner.
After inaugurating the celebration, Swami Nityananda Puri addressed the gathering. He said, “In Ramayana and Mahabharata, the Devathas used many weapons to destroy evils and to save humanity. In present scenario, we must use love and brotherhood to save the world from evil”. He congratulated IPF for organizing such events with all Indian communities and making it a grand success.
Cricketer and politician Sreesanth was the chief guest. He was welcomed and facilitated by IPF. Addressing the gathering, he expressed his happiness seeing Indians working all over in UAE for their livelihood and supporting their families back home. He also thanked IPF for providing an opportunity to spend his time with wonderful Indian people in UAE.
Dignitaries such as Mohammad Khumosi from Parsi community, Praveen Shetty, Premnath Shetty and Prabhakar Ambalatere from Kannadiga community, Raminder Singh from Punjabi community, Fr. Aji Chacko from Christian community and other community leaders congratulated and expressed their wishes of Raksha Bandhan.
Speaking to the occasion Sandeep Choudhari, representative of Consulate General of India at UAE said, “UAE Indian consulate boosted up their services and now a day’s renewal and issuance of passports will be done within five to seven days after applied for services”. He requested to pass this message to all Indian community members and asked them to contact the consulate for further assistance.
As a part of the celebration, all members tied Rakhis to each other and witnessed the spirit of unity and brotherhood. Guests were honored with bouquet of flowers. As a part of entertainment, classical music and dance forms of India were presented by local artists.
