Dubai: In the just concluded GPL (Goan Premiere League) Cricket tournament organised by the UNITED GMC, Vasco Roarers Won the finals defeating Margao Seahawks in an exciting battle between the top teams of Goa held at Zabeel Ground dated 3rd April 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

After losing the toss in the finals, Vasco roarers were asked to field, Margao seahawks set a target of 39 runs in 5 over with Mukhatr Kadri top scoring for Margao followed by Sabir Shaikh. In reply Vasco chased the score in 4.3 overs and Babul being the top scorer for vasco and also adjudged as the man of the finals. Earlier Margao Seahawks Defeated Ponda Defenders and Vasco Roarers Defeated Panjim Predators in the semi final matches respectively

 
Following prizes were awarded

1. Best Batsmen – Mukhtar Kadri ( Margao Seahawks)

2. Best Bowler – Mohsin Khan ( Margao Seahawks)

3. Man of the Finals – Babul ( Vasco Roarers)

4. Man of the Series – Mukhtar Kadri ( 32 Inch LED TV )

5. Best Discipline Team – Sanguem Fighters

6. 3rd Place – Ponda Defenders

7. 4th Place – Panjim Predators

 
During the Inauguration UGMC President Mr.Faid Khan thanked all the teams for their support and requested all to play with sportsmanship spirt. Also Mr. Aftab Alam ( ex GWS secretary and Mr. Abdul Reham Mullam ( Chariman Oxford Marine) spoke about the fantastic event witnessed by large goan gathering.
 
There was live ball to ball commentary throughout all the matches and the final commentary and presentation was actioned by Sabir the professional commentator and supported by his Red Bull team, they are always in support for all the cricketing events in UAE.
 
Earlier Team Auction was done and 8 cities were auctioned by different owners from Goa which was followed by the 2nd Auction for players was done and Matin Khan of Margao was the highest bidden Icon Player who was bought by Panjim Predators. The tournament was conducted in a very professional manner and a huge crowd of Goans witnessed this most awaited tournament in the history of Goan cricket organised by the UNITED GMC.
 
The awarding ceremony was graced by chief guest Mr. Aftab Alam ( ex GWS secretary and Mr. Abdul Reham Mullam ( Chariman Oxford Marine) along with the UGMC President Mr Farid Khan, Secretary Murad, Treasurer Parvez, Advisory Team Siraj and Ussein..
