Dubai: The flight movement in the busy Dubai International Airport got disrupted after a drone flew into its airspace which resulted in the closure of the airport for over an hour on Saturday.

The world’s busiest airport for international travel closed at 11:36 am reopened again at 12:45 pm which disrupted flights for 69 minutes. 22 flights were reportedly diverted during the time.

This is the not the first instance of a drone disrupting flights at the airport. Since February, United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority has requested drone owners to register with them.

There is a ban on people from the authorities on installing cameras or lasers on their drones and flying in certain areas of Dubai, including airport airspace.
