Dubai: The mercury in Gulf region was on a high, but the festive spirit of Belmangars didn’t soar down. It was a full packed party loving crowd which arrived at Al Wasl Sports Club.

The mesmerizing band Eagles, lead by Prashanth Sequeira opened the Belman grand feast 2016, with live music show.

James Mendonca was the chief guest. After lighting the lamp honouring Belman patron St.Joseph, he spoke on the difficulties faced by the community in organizing social events. He further advised the residents of UAE to take up self employment and stressed on coastal Konkan region expatriates to affiliate with their community associations for overall development of the motherland.

Bilingual coastal film Industry Actor and Director Pradeep Barboza was invited as the guest of honor. He thanked Bethkati officials for recognizing his talent and lending support to artists in the event. Joseph Mathias, another guest on the dais spoke on bringing reforms in culture and practices during traditional events and rendered his voice for a Konkani song.

Emerging singer Melwyn rocked the party with his noteworthy mimicry, well supported by local Belman comedians and crowd through a Baila dance.

Crew members from the much talked “Ek Aslyar Ek na “, the first Konkani movie to be premiered in Gulf on May 20, showcased new songs and movie teasers during the cultural entertainment.

Ivan Periera, President (2016-18) of Bethkati expressed his confidence for the days ahead and sought support from everyone after receiving the torch from the former president. Compere for the day Uttam covered all formalities with the support of Walter. All benefactors of Belman association were felicitated by Ivan D’Souza. The annual activity report was read on the occasion and everyone enjoyed the sumptuous buffet lunch served by London Suites Hotel.

Bethkati Belman organisation thanks everyone for witnessing their fiesta day and promises to organise more social events & community development projects in near future without any boundaries for the coastal region.
