Abu Dhabi: India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi (ISC), the largest socio-cultural organization for the Indian community in the Middle East and Union National Bank, one of the leading banks in the Middle East join hands to host the 4TH ISC UNB – UAE OPEN JUNIORS SQUASH TOURNAMENT 2016 at the India Social and Cultural Centre. ISC facilitates its members with Badminton, Squash, Tennis, Table Tennis, Snooker, Swimming pool and with a high profile Gymnasium and other amenities, within its state -of the -art building spanning over an area of 90,000 Sq. Ft. India Social & Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi is the largest recreational Centre in the Middle East for the Indian community having a membership strength of 2300 (over 8000 including dependents) and enjoys an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill. This premier socio-cultural organization was established in the year 1967. Socio- Cultural activities and Sports have been incessant achievements throughout 49 years of its existence. India Social & Cultural Centre also works as an effective platform in bridging the Indo-Arab cultural link and fostering the age old relationship between the two Nations. India-UAE relations are on the upswing and ever flourishing. Thomas Varghese, the Hon. President of ISC announced the launching of the 4th ISC-UNB-UAE OPEN UAE JUNIORS SQUASH TOURNAMENT 2016. ISC Abu Dhabi successfully conducted the tournament last year which received tremendous response resulting high quality of squash being played. Taking the momentum forward, ISC Abu Dhabi is now organizing the Open Tournament which is a benchmark for such tournaments in the UAE.

The squash section in ISC Abu Dhabi itself has strength of more than 500 members, utilizing the facility on a regular basis. The squash courts in ISC are of International Standards and proud to publicize them as one of the best in G.C.C. These courts are also used every year for conducting the games of the Abu Dhabi Squash League organized by the Abu Dhabi Squash. The tournament is being conducted with the approval and guidance of UAESRA and Abu Dhabi Squash.

The tournament will commence from 27TH may and will have attractive prizes including cash prizes. The tournament will have 6 categories Under 10 Years (Mixed), Boys Singles – Under 13 Years, Boys Singles – Under 16 Years, Girls Singles – Under 13 Years, Girls Singles – Under 16 Years, and Boys – Under 19. The highlight of this privileged tournament is that it is open for all children around UAE without any restriction to their entries. Hon Sports Secretary A M Nizar said ‘We expect over 100 children to participate in the tournament including the top seeds in the Country”. The main objective of this Tournament is to encourage the young children and inspire the spirit of the game irrespective of nationalities and to bring them together as relations at one and only India Social and Cultural Centre. Hon. General Secretary John P Varghese remarked that the overall participation is expected to reveal a show worthy of excellent skills combined with high endurance levels, and the goal to attain the championship under the roof of ISC, Abu Dhabi. It is a great opportunity for all the squash lovers around UAE to witness this big sporting event.
