Ullal observes voluntary bandh

Ullal: A voluntary bandh was observed on Thursday February 6 at Ullal subsequent to the imposition of Section 144 by the police on Wednesday February 5.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mangalore Police Commissioner R Hithendra who arrived at Ullal, himself took charge and went around several places in Ullal by foot to monitor  the situation and also to allay the fear in the minds of the people.

Deputy  Commissioner of Police, five inspectors from the city police commissionerate and four teams of Karnataka state reserve police and as many as 100 police personnel from outside the district have arrived in Ullal to take control of the situation.

State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khade who represents the constituency has appealed to the public of Ullal to maintain peace. He has also stated that he has issued due instructions to the Police Department to initiate action against the culprits.
