Mysore: Several complaints regarding encroachment of lakes and lands poured in at the phone-in programme wherein Deputy Commissioner C Palaiah interacted directly with the people on Thursday June 19.


The DC who responded to the complaints, assured to look into the same and directed the officials to clear all encroachments.
Devaraju from Bhoothanahalli in Bannur taluk and Male Madappa of Hullahalli in Nanjanagud taluk who spoke to the DC complained that lakes have been encroached in their villages and that the officials despite conducting a survey several times have not yet cleared the encroachments. The DC assured to solve the problem within the next 30 days.
The DC has also directed the authorities to initiate action regarding the complaints and submit an action taken report during the grievance redressal adalat to be held on August 21.
Water problem: Shantharaju of Piriyapattana who also spoke to the DC over phone said the Ashrama school students of the taluk faced problems due to water problem. They have no water even to wash their plates after mid-day meals, he said. Even the borewell works are half way through, Shantharaju complained. Following enquiry by the DC, the officials concerned assured to solve the problem within a week
Orders to evict bar, mutton shop near school: With regard to a complaint regarding the presence of three liquor shops and a mutton shop in close vicinity to a school, the DC said the liquor shops have already been served notices.
No admission under RTE : Champa of Ilavala said though her son has got a seat under RTE at the National Public School. The school was not admitting him. She said even a complaint with the DDPI was futile.
The DC said the DDPI has been intimated and asked her to contact the DDPI. He also told her to contact him directly in case the DDPI failed to solve the problem.
