Kushalnagar : MP Sushmitha, a student in the high school section of the Government Pre-University College at Shirangala, a border village of north Kodagu,suffers from ovarian cancer and is in dire need of funds to avail good medical treatment to cure her of the ailment.
Daughter of Paramesh-Netravathi, a poor couple hailing from Maaglu village in Arakalagudu taluk, Sushmitha had joined the Shirangala high school after her primary education at Maaglu Government School. But ovarian cancer struck her early in life, hampering the normal activities of the bubbly girl who was a meritorious student as well as a good sports talent and enjoyed playing kabaddi and volleyball at school.
Already, the relatives have extended as much financial aid to the poor family, towards the medical treatment of Sushmitha. The family has spent Rs one lakh towards treatment already and is in need of another Rs 2 lakhs for her to completely recover from the ailment. Already, the school development committee and teachers have donated Rs 20,000 while VSSN Director SS Chandrashekhar and Geleyara Balaga have contributed Rs 10,000.
