Udupi : A jolly boat  ride at the St Mary’s Island  by a group of youngsters turned tragic  when one of them  fell off the boat and met a watery grave on March 24, Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Kittu Jayaraj, a student of Manipal Institute of Communication. He hailed from Kerala.
According to sources, Jayaraj along with his friends had boarded a ferry to enjoy a boat ride on a holiday. But, he suddenly went off balance and fell into the water. It is said the efforts of his friends to save him vent in vain.

The body has been kept in the  mortuary. Malpe  police are conducting the investigations.
