Mysuru: “No government can takeaway the natural law endowed to an individual” opined Prof. C Basavaraju Registrar University.

He was speaking after inaugurating a one day workshop on International student’s welfare organised by University of Mysuru at Senate Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion he stressed on the importance of Natural rights. The issue of conflicts starts when one person does not respect the other and later leads to violation of Human rights. Irrespective of which religion or country to which one belongs, the natural rights cannot be violated. In India Article (14) and (21) ensure these rights to International students but the students are monitored not only with International instruments but municipal law he added.
Prof. Dr Vijayakumar, former Vice Chancellor Dr. Ambedkar Law University referring to an International student’s perspective he said that the University should take revise the curriculum and consider 17th November as International student’s day and provide a platform to raise their grievances. Foreign students face a sort of xenophobia , a sort of contempt and social ambiguity from the very beginning and absence of adequate student support systems and guidance in the University make the situation worse.
Poor Turnout of international students
The poor turnout of International students created disappointment on the occasion.
Reacting to this Krishne Gowda, Director International Centre Manasagangothri said, “I am very much disappointed to see what happened today. But the programme was organised at the request of the foreign students but they have not turned up. Miscommunication among the students might be the reason behind this”.
Abdulrashid Hassan Organising Secretary Federation of Students Association said that 10 am was too early to start a program on this day. It is Christmas and week end you cannot expect us to be here. They are all coming later in the day.
