Mysuru: A minor scuffle broke out between a police official and a pawn broker when the police team came to the pawn broker’s shop to release jewelry allegedly stolen by two women.

Case history:
Two women Venkatamma and Sarojamma of Kesere locality in Mysuru were involved in a 75 gram gold robbery incident. They sold the robbed gold to pawn broker Kanaram of Deepa jewelers located at Shanthinagar in the city. Malavalli police team nabbed the women and accompanied them to the pawn broker’s shop to recover the ornaments from him.
What transpired?
On the night of July 20, the police arrived at the shop along with the women and asked the pawn broker to hand over the jewelry. Though the picture in the CCTV footage is not clear, it is understood that there was a scuffle between the pawn broker and the police.
The pawn broker has alleged assault and claims to have CCTV footage to prove his charges and has lodged a complaint against the Malavalli police. On the other hand, Malavalli police sub-inspector has ruled out any such incident and confirmed that the checks were carried out in accordance with the law.
In the court the women may have the last laugh as witnesses!
