Women Dasara Draws Crowd in Madikeri

Madikeri:The women Dasara that was held for the first time at the historical Madikeri Dasara Utsav drew a large crowd.

Variety cultural shows were held across the city on account of women Dasara celebrations.

In the women Dasara celebrations  countries youngest women sand artiste Gowri from Mysore sculpted sand art of Mahisha Mardini that was created out of 5 truckloads of sand at nearby St Michaels School, here.

Speaking to media persons, Gowri said, “It was her seventeenth sand art show and second during Madikeri Dasara. I have participated in international sand art exhibition held at Cuttack in Odisha.I have plans of setting up a sand museum in Mysore in the nearest future.”

The exhibition on Kodagus wildlife by photographer Mandepanda Savita Poovayya was held on the occasion,besides flower decoration and Rangoli drawing competition was also held at Laxminarasimha Kalyan Mantap.

The products manufactured by over 250 women self-help-groups and Stree Shakti self-help-groups were displayed for sale at Gandi maidan on the occasion.
