Mysuru: A woman, kingpin of a prostitution racket run in government’s Ashraya Colony has been arrested by the South Rural police here on April 21.
Kingpin Laxmi Ramabai was nabbed along with her aides – auto driver Papanna and one Manju.

The woman’s business was running swiftly in Ashraya Colony because of the political clout she has.

It is learnt that the woman used to get close to political leaders and get Ashraya houses allocated for her. These houses were used to run flesh trade by her.

The gram panchayath member Kamala helped police who were cracking prostitution rackets in the city. Kamala who observed many girls going to Laxmi’s house grew suspicious and informed police.

Police raided Laxmi’s house and two persons were taken into custody. Two girls were rescued by the police.

Laxmi who pretended to fall unconscious seeing police was arrested and taken to the station.
