Mysuru: The farmer suicide cases in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s home constituency continued as another debt-ridden farmer committed suicide in K R Nagar here on April 21.
Kullegowda(65) from Bherya village is the farmer.
He had paddy and cane farms for which he had raised a loan of Rs 20,000 from Co-operative society. He also had a loan of Rs 80,000 from private money lenders.
When his crops failed to fetch him right market price, Kullegowda ended life by consuming pesticide as he feared that money lenders and banks would take away his land.
The farmer is survived by a son and a daughter.
A case has been registered at Bherya police station.
