Mysuru: “I too possess lots of weapons in my armoury and will use them when the time comes”, said Energy Minister D K Shivakumar responding to queries on Income Tax raids.

Shivakumar, who arrived in Mysore for the first time after I-T attacks, met his father-in-law Thimmmaiah and later went to Chamundi Hill temple to offer prayers.

After taking part in hour-long rituals including Chandika Homa, DKS spoke to media . “I have sought help from deity Chamundeshwari to relieve me and family members from stress and for peace in the state. Many people are troubling me and so I prayed to mother Chamundi to strengthen us in times of distress to overcome all problems”, DKS said.

“I have not done anything wrong and do not fear. I will reply to all the charges in the legal framework. We were tormented for days with raids at 73 places belonging to my kin and associates. It is my duty to protect them and I have not shrunken after the 3-day raids” and added, “ my statements in media after the raids are a true reflection of my views on the unprecedented raids.”

The minister, who responded to the I-T attack on his immediate home today, was seeing this too as an aid to his political growth.

Responding to the raid on KPCC Secretary Vijay Mulgund’s residence in Bengaluru today, he said, “He was supervising the arrangements, when legislators from Gujarat stayed in Bengaluru and is a very simple man and learnt of raids on his residence through the media. The statement made by the chief minister in Mysore has been meaningful and everyone has agreed.

I do not cherish talking to media about I-T raids often, clarified DKS but went on to say, “I too possess lots of weapons in my armoury and will use them when the time comes.”

Endorsing CM Siddaramiah’s statement in Mysuru about IT raids, he reiterated, “CM has given a meaningful account from his perspective, which is acceptable to one and all”, DKS stated rubbishing media reports about rift within the party post I-T raids.
