Mysuru: An important meeting will be held in New Delhi on June 21 regarding the renewal of Karnataka State Open University’s ( KSOU) accreditation.

The meeting will be presided over by the Secretary of Human Resources Development S K Sharma.Vice Chancellor of KSOU Prof. D Shivalingaiah, Registrar Chandrasekhar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka Ratnaprabha, UGC chairman along with the secretary will be present at the meeting.
The KSOU has already written a letter to the government in February 2013 seeking recognition for the academic year 2017-18. It has also sought recognition of graduate degrees of 96 students from 2013-14 and 2014-15 batches. KSOU has asked authorities concerned to look into the plight of more than 2 lakh students enrolled in private partnership with KSOU after the de-recognition of the university.
KSOU chancellor confirmed of submitting all the relevant documents sought by UGC and agreed to fulfill 21 conditions laid down for approval. The university is confident of getting recognition for all courses except technical courses such as Bachelor of Engineering (BE). Among the three major demands placed before UGC , KSOU is confident of getting recognition for the academic year 2017-18 and positive feedback on the rest in the near future.
