Mysore :
Kannada Vedike activists of Mysore  staged a demonstration in front of the City Corporation office on February 21, Friday demanding  allocation of funds in the MCC budget for the Kannada Bhavan construction and also to  identify land for the Bhavan.

Several Vedike activists who converged in front of the MCC office  in the morning, shouted slogans denouncing the corporation for its delay in fulfilling the demand.

Addressing the protestors, Balakrishna, President of  the Vedike, said  though the corporation had announced allocation of Rs 50 lakhs for the project last year, it has not  made any move to  implement the proposal. He alleged the corporation was pursuing a  partisan approach  as far as the issue of Kannada Bhavan construction was concerned.

He urged the corporation to allocate more funds for the Kannada Bhavan construction during this budget and take up the construction works at the earliest.
