Various associations stage protest against Badaun incident

Mysore:  Various like-minded organisations including the Mahila Daurjanya Virodhi Okkoota, PUCL, Samatha Vedike, Shakta Dhama and Hindulida Vargagala Jagritha Vedike staged a protest in front of the DC office here on  Friday June 6  to condemn the Badaun case wherein two cousins were raped and hanged in Uttar Pradesh and also the rising cases of crime against women.

Speakers on the occasion, lashed out at the administration for failing to check crime against women and said the apathetic attitude of the officials when the poor parents of the two girls approached them to lodge a complaint was condemnable. They also referred to the several rape cases reported from Uttar  Pradesh.

Demanding stringent measures to check  such cases, the protestors also demanded suitable investigation.

 The protestors demanded compensation to the bereaved and affected families and also suitable rehabilitation facilities to them.

A large number of activists took part in the protest.
