Three men arrested in a 10 acre land grab case

Mysore: The MCC Zone-1 Zonal Officer T.S. Sathyamurthy and Works Inspector Javed have filed cases at KR Police Station against three persons for illegally encroaching a 10-acre plot of land belonging to a dalit cemetery in Survey Nos. 103 and104 under MCC Zone-1 jurisdiction.

It is reported that Sathyamurthy and Javed. acting on a complaint that 10 acres out of the 16.35 acre land granted by the Government in 1969 for development of a cemetery for dalits in Gowrishankarnagar had been encroached and buildings built on the encroached plot of land, inspected the spot on July 2 and filed cases against three persons during the past one week.

The RTC of these lands indicates that the 16.35 acre land belonged to MCC

Mahadevaiah, who was building a house on the encroached land in Mahadevi Colony and Puttaswamy, who was constructing a building near Mahaganapathy Temple in Gowrishankarnagar were a tip off to the officials who then conducted an inspection. Also on June 15,  it was noticed that one Susheelamma was illegally constructing a house near Krishna Bakery in Dattanagar which forced the MCC officials to file cases at KR Police Station.
