Mysore: On the concluding day of the three-day ‘Yuvajanotsava,’ the Karnataka Regional Catholic Youth Convention, organized by KRCBC Youth Commission, about 2,000 participants took out a peace and progress march from St. Philomena’s Church to Philomena’s College Ground in Bannimantap.
The march was flagged off by Minister for Youth Affairs Abhaychandra Jain.


The valedictory function at the same venue was held where the former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes was the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Oscar Fernandes hailed the youth power of the country and said that the youth power should be channelized to strengthen the nation.
He asked the youth to gear up to serve the society; “Youth should take initiative to build the nation and be a role model to next generation”, he added
In his presidential address Rev. Bernard Moras said that youth should be encouraged in such that they should not hesitate to take right decisions, only money can’t make life, spiritual life should also be cultivated in this age which will guide in good path, he asserted.
All the Bishops and chief guests were felicitated during the function.
A blood donation camp was also organized at the venue where many participants voluntarily donated blood.
KRCBC President Rev. Bernard Moras presided. District in-charge Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad, MLA M.K. Somashekar, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Bishop of Mysore, Rev. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, KRYC Secretary Fr. Mari Joseph, P. Martin, Fr. Antonyraj, Robert and others were present on the occasion.
