Mysuru: The six-day Bahuroopi national theater festival was cheered by the thousands of theater freak folks.
Theater and film actor Arundhati Nag delivered the valedictory of Rangayana’s national theatre festival Bahuroopi 2015 at Rangayana’s Vanaranga.


“Theatre festivals are the yard sticks of the Indian culture. Besides, people of Mysuru have also been instrumental in making Rangayana and Bahuroopi what it is today!” Nag heartily said to a packed audience.
Rangayana is one of the premier theatre institutions of the country, their work from the past 25 years were an inspiring one, also it makes me feel proud for being party of Rangayana and Bahuroopi, she added.
Deputy Director of Rangayana Bhavikatti; Director of Rangayana H Janardhan were present at the valedictory. Manjunath Bilikere delivered the Thanksgiving speech, which concluded Bahuroopi 2015.
The theatre fest, which is in its 12th year had not just troupes performing plays with the theme ‘Bahumukhi Shakespeare’ but also a folk festival, film fest, seminars and a number of food and book stalls.
The fest was inaugurated by the theater and film actor Naseeruddin Shah on January 13th, and performed ‘Beastly Tales’.
‘Dham Dhoom Suntaragali’ was adapted by Vaidehi from Shakespeare’s Tempest. The play was directed by Jonathan Sulaya was performed by Mysuru’s Natana troupe. The costumes, magic and the comic relief caught the imagination of the audience at Kalamandira on Sunday.
Playwright by Natraj Huliyar “Shakespeare Manege Banda” (Kannada) directed by Natraj Honnavali was also staged.
