Mysuru: A teenager was arrested here for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl for six months. He had abducted the girl before raping her.
The accused, a 17-year-old boy and the victim, a 16-year-old girl, both from Mysuru knew each other. The girl was pursuing her first year pre-university and was staying at a hostel. The boy who is employed in a hotel used to meet her every day. The girl, all of a sudden went missing in the month of March and her parents lodged a complaint at VV Puram station.

The police who took up investigation failed to get any leads initially. When the victim’s friends and family members were interrogated, they learnt about her friendship with the boy from the neighboring village. Further investigation also revealed that the boy too had gone missing from home.

Hence, the police launched a manhunt for the missing boy and the girl in Bengaluru, Shrirangapattana and Mysuru. The police finally located the boy and the girl at a rented house in a village in Mysuru. Both were subjected to medical tests and the reports confirmed that the girl was raped.

The father of the minor girl lodged a case of kidnap and rape against the boy and he was booked under POCSO Act. Both the accused and the victim have been sent to juvenile homes.
