Sweet beginning: Devotees throng temple in serpentine queues to welcome New Year 2017

Mysuru: Yoga Narasimha Swamy temple in Mysore distributed around 2 lakhs tasty laddus for its devotees who formed serpentine queues since morning on  January 1.

Bhashyam Swamiji distributed laddus to thousands of devotes in the morning at the temple premises where rituals began at 4 am in the morning to welcome New Year 2017.

Around 1000 kgs of Puliyogare (rice dish) was offered to the deity as a food offering.

Around 5000 kgs of Besan flour, 10000 kgs of Sugar,4000 litres of refined oil, 100 kgs of raisins, 50 kgs  of cloves and Almond, 10 kg pistachio nuts and 20 kgs cardamom along with other necessary ingredients were used to prepare  nearly 2 lakh laddus  as ‘Prasadam’ for distribution.

Thousand of devotes were seen standing in queues which extended to over a kilometer length on the New Year day.
