Mysuru: A 25-year-old housewife from the city died when she failed to recover from liver complications after a sterilization procedure on May 13.

Roopashri(25) was initially admitted to Cheluvamaba hospital where Dr. Pramila performed the sterilization procedure. When she developed liver complications her condition became critical and was immediately moved to a private hospital.

However she failed to recover and eventually died this morning.

Post mortem location shifted

Normally the post mortem is conducted in KR hospital premises in these cases. However the relatives of the deceased alleged that the truth will not be known if the post mortem is conducted in KR hospital premises. They urged the authorities to move the body to JSS hospital. Accordingly the body was shifted to JSS hospital and the post mortem was carried out.

In the mean time the dean of Cheluvamba hospital Dr.Krishnamurthy announced a compensation of Rs 50000 to the family of the deceased and assured strict action against the erring doctor.
