SL Bhyrappa receives Padmashree award at his residence

Mysuru: On behalf of Central government, Subash Chand, Additional Chief Secretary handed over Padmashree award to writer SL Bhyrappa at his residence here on Friday.

Bhyrappa couldn’t attend Padmashree award function in Delhi due to ill health. Speaking after receiving the award Bhyrappa said “More than the awards if people remember our works even after centuries it’s gives more satisfaction, it’s almost the same for all writers”.

However, he was reluctant to speak about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the occasion he also called upon government to refrain from destroying the ecology of Chamundi Hill in the name of developmental works. Bhyrappa had taken part in Save Chamundi Hill campaign.

Superintendent of police Abhinav Khare, DCP Shekar and other related officials were also present.
