T. Narasipura:If the  local police have kept a strict eye on sand smugglers in order to put a brake to the sand smuggling activities, the latter have chosen to throw dust at the eyes of the police, by adopting a novel way of smuggling sand.

One of the sand smugglers realizing that he would be caught, covered the sand in the lorry with  mud as if to prove that the lorry was transporting mud. The driver was sure that he would not be caught as police do not bother much about the mud transporting lorries and tippers which are aplenty in the town.

However, Sub-Inspector KR Gopikrishna got hint of the same and  intercepted a tipper at  Dhanayakapura. On inspection it came to light that the tipper was actually transporting sand  in the cover of mud. The vehicle was reportedly heading towards Mysore.
