Mysuru: D Randeep took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru on Friday. The officer first visited Chamundi Hills, sought blessings of Goddess Chamundeshwari and then proceeded to take charge from Additional DC Venkatesh. Outgoing DC Shikha served the district for about three and half years. She has been transferred as commissioner of social welfare department on August 10. The new DC also accepted ‘prasadam’ at the temple in the form of the lunch served at the temple, along with his parents.
Speaking after taking charge from Venkatesh, Randeep said “First I thank government for instilling confidence in me. It’s really great to be deputy commissioner of Mysuru district. My first priority, as of now would be safe and secured Dasara. I will speak to ADC Venkatesh and take stock of the situation. As this is chief minister Siddaramaiah’s home constituency, naturally there will be more responsibility. Lot of expectation and aspiration will be there. I have come here with positive frame of mind and I am confidant of giving good administration to the people and government,” he said.

Recalling his earlier visit, Randeep said that three-years-ago he had come to Mysuru as a tourist and this visit is totally a different experience. With regard to query on pressure from politicians, he said that during his ten years of experience as a bureaucrat, he has seen all sorts of people.

“I go by rules and whoever it may be, I will not deviate from the rule,” he said.
