Mysore: Three persons were arrested by the NR police, on Tuesday August 12, on the charges of kidnapping and raping a minor girl in city.
The arrested have been identified as Raghu a resident of Bisilavadi village in Chamarajanagar district, and Shafiullah and Rahim, both residents of Kushalnagar in Kodagu district.
According to the police, the victim, a resident of HD Kote, ran away from her house as her parents scolded her for not performing well at school.
The distraught girl reached Mysore and was looking for employment when Raghu, an employee of a telephone company befriended the girl by promising her a job.
He then took the girl to his residence near Maruthi Temple Circle in N R Mohalla and sexually assaulted her repeatedly. She was forcefully kept in his house, after which the trio took the girl to Bangalore where she was made to work at a cobbler’s shop there.
However after the girl succeeded in informing her parents over the telephone about her whereabouts, the Police personnel from HD Kote, along with the girl’s parents traced her in Bangalore.
Based on the information provided by the girl, the cops arrested the trio.
