Ramanagar: A real estate businessman has been nabbed by the police for giving out a supari to kill his lover. Six supari killers too have landed in Ramanagar police net.
The arrested are businessman R Keshavamurthy (68) from Banashankari in Bengaluru. The supari killers have been identified as B V Adarsh from Upparahalli in Bengaluru, G K Manoj Kumar from Mariyappa Layout, P Jagadish from Bommasandra, K Vinay from Gopi Layout, A Rajesh from JP Nagar and C R Muralidhar from Bidarahalli.
It is said that Keshavamurthy had been in a relationship with a single mother named Rathnamma (45) from Harohalli in Kanakapura taluk over the last 15 years and ever since they developed a relationship, Keshavamurthy used to fend for all her needs. Keshavamurthy had gone out of his way to meet her growing demands. But, to his dismay, the lady had turned extremely greedy and had started taking undue advantage of wealthy Keshavamurthy.
On learning that Keshavamurthy’s USA settled son was getting married in June, Rathnamma started blackmailing Keshavamurthy of dire consequences if he did not bring her more money. When she threatened him of revealing about their relationship in the wedding hall, Keshavamurthy decided to teach her a lesson.
Rathnamma’s demands were reportedly way beyond Kshavamurthy’s ability to meet and without any other option left, Keshavamurthy hired supari killers to shut Rathnamma’s mouth forever. He gave the supari for Rs 10 lakhs hoping that his troubles would end.
Accordingly, the killers contacted Rathnamma on March 6 promising that they would hand over money due to her from Keshavamurthy. They then picked her in their car and took her to Anekal, where they strangulated her to death. The body was disposed by the gang in Doddakodihalli on TN border area.
Soon, Rathnamma’s relatives had filed a missing complaint and while probing the case the police discovered the supari angle to the case. Working on leads available, the police first nabbed couple of supari killers and finally laid their hands on Keshavamurthy.
