Mysuru: The elephants which go on a rampage can now be captured and moved in an elephant rescue vehicle making the lives of forest task force easy. The rescue vehicle is equipped with guns, tranquilizers, strong ropes and medicines and a readymade gauge.

In the recent past, elephants invading human inhabited areas have become very common causing damage to crops and lives. In a few cases, the elephants are pushed back into the forests by the people and forest guards, whereas in other cases they are captured and tamed.
The Nagarhole forest reserve has many wild elephants and they move in herds to different forest ranges like Madikeri, Chamarajnar and Hassan in search of food and water. At times, a few of the elephants escape from the herd and go on a rampage.
In these situations, it becomes difficult to capture and transport elephants as normal trucks cannot carry huge elephants through the forests. To counter this problem the action force has been provided a fully sophisticated vehicle. This vehicle helps in capturing and transporting the wild elephants. The vehicle moves along with the tamed elephants and when the team encounters a wild elephant, the action begins. The wild elephant is tranquilized and forced into the vehicle with the help of tamed elephants and the entire capturing operation gets over in a few minutes.
Strong tamed elephants like Balarama, Arjun, Abhimanyu, Bhima, Srinivas and Krishna are being employed during the rescue operations.
The people who are a part of the task force are happy with a new addition to their armory which has made the rescue of the wild elephants safe and rapid.
