Ramdas case: 50 booked for bid to assault Premakumari

Mysore : It has come to light quite late that the police have registered cases against 50 persons who had attempted to assault and tried to prevent Prema Kumari from visiting Apollo Hospital where former minister SA Ramdas was undergoing treatment after a failed suicide attempt.

The Ashokapuram police had even arrested 14 out of the 50 persons. All of them were released on bail on February 26.  It is learnt, the police who had videographed the incident, were identifying each and everyone involved and were  registering cases against them suo moto.

Inspector Shanthamallappa is the complainant in this case. It is learnt police are yet to arrest 36 of the accused and some of them are women. They too will be arrested, sources said.

So far,  four cases including the  assault attempt  case on Premakumari have been registered  in connection with the Ramdas  affair case.

If two cases are registered in Kuvempunagar police station, one each is registered at Saraswathipuram police station and Ashokapuram police station.

All these cases have now been entrusted to the CID following the Deputy Commissioner order to hand over the Ramdas case to the CID.
