Mysuru: The health condition of Rakesh, elder son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is stable according to family sources in Belgium.

Rakesh had left to Belgium with four of his friends Shoaib alias chotu, Keshav, Srinivas and Rohan Gowda. He was admitted to a hospital after he fell ill suddenly and is now undergoing treatment in the Intensive care unit (ICU) of the university hospital at Brussels.
Pancreatic infection due to excess smoking and drinking
Excess consumption of alcohol and cigarettes are the prime reasons for the deterioration in his health according to hospital sources which led to the infection of his pancreas.
Supporters offer prayers
Hundreds of Rakesh’s supporters offered special prayers to goddess Chamundeshwari seeking quick recovery of Rakesh by breaking coconuts in the temple premises.
CM reaches Belgium
It is learnt, family members including Rakesh’s wife Smitha, brother Dr.Yathindra along with two other doctors are already in Belgium assisting an ailing Rakesh in the hospital. CM Siddaramaiah too left Bengaluru in the early hours of July 28 to be with his ailing son along with Parliamentary secretary Govinda Raju and IAS officer Ateeq Ahmed. He reached Belgium at 3 pm and the decision about shifting his son to Mount Elizabeth hospital in Singapore will be taken after consulting a team of doctors according to family sources.
