Mysore:This Dasara promises to be not just a feast for the eyes but cater to the tourists love for food too.
Tourists can look forward to sumptuous delicacies unique to not just different parts of the state and country, but also cities abroad.
The quality of the food will be ensured by CFTRI and free diet tips will be given by professionals during the Dasara Food Festival, being held for eight days during the ten day extravaganza from October 5 to 12.
The district administration is planning to come up with 15 varieties of food for 80 stalls at the Scouts and Guides grounds. The food festival will feature dishes of Mysore, Kodagu ,coastal Karnataka and Malnad.
“We have written to the DCs of the respective districts and tourism department directors of various states to come up with different styles of food typical to their regions and held meetings with communities including the Gujarati samaj to come up with cultural programmes by well known artists.
In addition we are asking foreigners staying in Mysore to suggest cuisine typical to their countries,” said Devarju of the Dasara Food Festival Committee, adding three scientists from CFTRI would check the quality of food every day.
