Mysore : City Police Commissioner Dr M.A. Saleem has informed that  private vehicles have been restricted from entering Chamundi Hills during Ashada Shukravara in order to ease traffic  congestion and reduce inconvenience to devotees.

The Commissioner said  thousands of devotees are expected to  visit the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple in the Chamundi hills   on July 4,11,18 and 25 when there will be special pooja on account of Ashada Shukravara.  The traffic restrictions are thus imposed in the interests of the devotees, he said.  The Commissioner however said state transport corporation vehicles are exempted from the restrictions.
