Mysore : City Police Commissioner Dr M.A. Saleem has informed that private vehicles have been restricted from entering Chamundi Hills during Ashada Shukravara in order to ease traffic congestion and reduce inconvenience to devotees.
The Commissioner said thousands of devotees are expected to visit the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple in the Chamundi hills on July 4,11,18 and 25 when there will be special pooja on account of Ashada Shukravara. The traffic restrictions are thus imposed in the interests of the devotees, he said. The Commissioner however said state transport corporation vehicles are exempted from the restrictions.
Devotees visiting the temple will have to park their vehicles as per the instructions of the police in a vacant land to the South West of the Lalitha Mahal Helipad via the Helipad road and KC Layout Main Road from Kurubarahlli Circle.
Devotees coming from Uttanahalli Road should reach the parking spot via Race Course Road, Kurubarahalli and Chamundi Hill Road.
State transport buses will ferry the passengers to Chamundi Hills from the parking area, the Commissioner informed.
